It's fun to see how ideas emerge through a series. It's subtle but this is where I began playing with different types of shading in the vase. Originally I had meant to bring in that darker blue grey as a shadow. But instead they emerge as stems further in the background. That is definitely going to be something I play with going forward.

Canvas size: 8x8 inches square; 1/2 inch depth

Each acrylic painting is painted on stretched canvas ready to frame or hang. Bits of the red underpainting show through at edges.

Sides painted black.
